Travel Advice
For overseas holidays, it is essential that all travellers, both adults and children, have the correct documentation for their journey. This includes passports and, where required, visa documentation. It is your responsibility to ensure that these are in place prior to travel, as we cannot allow guests to travel without them.
Passport Requirements
All UK citizens travelling abroad must hold a valid passport. Please ensure you apply for or renew passports well in advance, as processing times can vary, especially during peak periods. For non-UK passport holders, it is essential to check with your country’s embassy or consulate whether a visa is required for your destination. Visa requirements are determined by nationality and the destination country, so verifying this early is crucial.
Travel Advice for UK Citizens
For detailed and up-to-date information about your destination, including entry requirements, safety guidance, and local regulations, please consult the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) website. Additionally, ABTA’s website (www.abta.com) provides useful travel advice for holidaymakers.
Travel Within Europe
For European holidays, all travellers, including adults and children, must obtain a valid European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) or its replacement, the UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC). These cards provide access to state healthcare in participating European countries, which can save both time and money if medical assistance is needed.
You can apply for an EHIC or GHIC:
- Online at www.ehic.org.uk or the updated NHS GHIC website
- By calling 0845 605 0707
- Or in person at your local Post Office.
Please note that healthcare entitlements may vary depending on your destination and the type of card you hold, so it is advisable to check the latest information before travel.
Final Preparations
Taking the time to ensure all necessary documentation is in order will help avoid any disruptions to your holiday. We strongly recommend that you verify requirements and complete any applications as early as possible, allowing ample time for processing. By preparing in advance, you can ensure a smooth and enjoyable holiday experience for all members of your group.
