1. Who can book an Acorn Family Holiday?
Acorn Family Holidays are designed specifically for single parent families and families with children aged 7 and up.
2. What types of activities are included in the holiday?
Our holidays feature a wide range of activities tailored to suit all interests and abilities. Options may include kayaking, climbing, zip-lining, paddleboarding, and cultural excursions. Our programmes typically include 2-3 supervised activities per day, plus evening entertainment.
3. Are there age restrictions for the activities?
Yes, only those aged 7 and up can participate in all of our activities, except the Via Ferrata in the Ardeche which is only suitable for children age 9+. Children age 7+ are very welcome on the Ardeche holiday, but it’s important to consider whether your child will enjoy and have the stamina for the 2 day kayak trip as it can be a long trip for younger children.
4. What kind of evening entertainment is offered?
We provide a variety of evening entertainment options. For those seeking a more relaxed evening, parents can unwind over a glass of wine while children are entertained or explore the local area as a family.
5. How does the activities programme work?
All activities are included in the cost of your holiday and are led by qualified instructors. You’ll receive a detailed activity programme upon arrival, which will outline your scheduled activities and any free days available for exploration.
6. What is the level of difficulty for the activities?
Our activities are designed to be fun and accessible for everyone. They are primarily introductory or “taster” sessions, ensuring that families of all ages and abilities can participate. Our focus is on having a great experience together rather than on technical skill development. The two day river descent is suitable for age 7+ but it’s two days of kayaking so it’s important to consider whether younger children will have the stamina and interest in this as every child is different.
7. Is travel insurance necessary?
Yes, it is essential that all families purchase travel insurance. Ensure that your policy covers all activities included in your itinerary, as well as any potential travel disruptions.
8. What’s included in the holiday price?
The holiday price typically includes accommodation, meals, transport (if using our coach service), a full programme of activities, equipment, and supervision.
9. How can I book an Acorn Family Holiday?
You can book your holiday directly through our website or by contacting our friendly customer service team for assistance. We’re happy to provide instant quotes and answer any questions you may have.
10. What if I need to cancel my holiday?
We understand that plans can change. Please refer to our cancellation policy on the website for details on how to proceed. We recommend considering travel insurance to help cover any potential losses.
11. Is financial protection offered?
Yes! Acorn is a fully licensed and bonded tour operator, which means your money is protected through ABTA and ATOL bonding. You can book with confidence, knowing your financial security is ensured.
