What's it like?

Our Brecon Beacons Family Adventure holiday is set in a beautiful 17-acre campsite (with pre-erected tents and beds) in the Brecon Beacons National Park, Wales, set only one mile away from Llangorse Lake, the largest natural lake in South Wales. The Brecon Beacons is the perfect destination for a family activity holiday and this adventure programme is suited to age 5+.

Within easy reach of the M50, just passed Abergavenny, this tranquil, yet adventurous location is an easy place to get to and yet feels a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Fresh air, great views and a full programme of activities for the whole family makes this a great place to spend your activity holiday, be it for a weekend or a full week.

Our staff will take care of the evening activities leaving you to relax and socialise with the other parents (feel free to bring your wine and beer along) and enjoy some `you time`. But many also choose to join in as our evening activity programme can be lots of fun for the whole family. It's up to you. Plus - the minimum age for activities at this adventure camp is just five years old. The lake which is just down the road from the activity campsite, is the perfect location for family friendly water sports such as sailing, kayaking, canoeing and raft building.

All of our activities for families are included in the price and are led by our qualified team of activity instructors. The watersports are complemented by the wide range of dry land activities available on-site including a high ropes course, two climbing and abseil towers, three sheltered archery ranges, and two challenge courses. There is also an indoor area ideal for discos, talent evenings and other evening activities.

Activities

Our Brecon Beacons activity holiday for families offers a great variety of activities, with up to six water sports on Llangorse Lake and a wide range of land based activities that will keep the whole family active and happy. Plus, our staff put on evening entertainment/activities in the evening, giving you some time to chat and enjoy a glass of wine whilst your children play with their new friends, or quite often parents choose to join in the fun too.

Activities here include kata kanu, pico sailing, kayaking, canoeing, fencing, raft building, paddle boarding, zip wire, high ropes, bushcraft, archery, orienteering, challenge course, abseiling and mission impossible.

Activities are included in the price and are delivered by our qualified team of instructors and are suited to beginners all the way up to the more experienced. You don't have to be really fit to enjoy our activities, just up for having a good time and perhaps ready to push through a few boundaries such as a fear of heights or getting wet. Our staff are there to support and guide those who are new to adventurous activities and who are perhaps a little nervous.

Typically, there are three scheduled activity sessions each day for families: a morning session following breakfast, an afternoon session following lunch and a fun evening session following dinner. You can participate in as much or as little as you like. We take full responsibility for all participants during activities so there is no need for parental supervision if you want to opt out of a session here or there. All we ask is that if there is no nominated adult participating with your child, that you stay on site during the activity session. Feel free to read your book and enjoy some quality `you time`.

We supply all the activity kit and equipment for you and your family and provide a full kit list of what you need to wear and bring with you when you make your booking.

Please Note:Although we welcome children as young as 5yrs to take part in our Brecon Beacons Adventure, the following activities are not suitable for those aged under 7yrs Kayaking and High Ropes/Zip Wire. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact us on 01384 398 870.
