What's it like?

This Family Adventure Holiday in the picturesque Aosta Valley, Italy offers the ultimate summer holiday with beautiful scenery, sunshine and close proximity to lakes, white water rivers and crags. Our private campsite is set in the Gran Paradiso National Park next to the Dora Baltea River and is surrounded by alpine trees and views of the Italian Alps.

With average temperatures of 25 degrees in July and August, you will relish the water sports on offer here!

Waking up to intoxicating smells of the trees and the mist forming on the tops of the mountains makes the family camping experience here, in our pre-erected camping villages, a truly magical experience. Just a short walk away from our camp lies the small traditional town of Villeneuve with its pizzeria and geletaria's as well as a swimming pool that can be used in free time for a small additional local charge. On-site there is a small shop, playing field and toilet and shower facilities as well as our high ropes course and other activities that are all included in your package.

A real highlight of this all-inclusive family activity holiday is the chance to spend a day white water rafting lead by a qualified local raft guides who know the river and rapids well. This experience, combined with learning to paddle on a tranquil lake, rock climbing with views of Mont Blanc and exploring our high ropes course in the tall alpine trees at our camp will sure to be your most memorable family holiday yet.

Activities

All activities are suited to age 7+, included in the price of your holiday and delivered by our qualified team of instructors. The white water rafting activity is delivered by a local white water rafting company who have been working on the river for many years. On each day there will be scheduled activities for your activity group. Activities here include: A day of white water rafting, gorge scramble, kayaking, canoeing, raft building, paddle-boarding, hill walking, rock climbing, high ropes, fencing, and abseiling. One of the days is a `free day` where you can go and explore the local area or relax. Families have told us they like having a day to themselves to either relax or to go and see the local area. A trip to Aosta is only a bus ride away for souvenirs and sightseeing, or there is a swimming pool within walking distance, if you prefer a relaxing day just for you. Your evenings can be spent enjoying time with the other parents whilst the children are kept entertained by our team. Or the whole family can join in on the fun. It's completely up to you.

Alpine Adventure Camp

2S8B6853

Our private Alpine Adventure Camp is located in the small town of Villeneuve, in the Aosta Valley, Northwestern Italy. Our tranquil camp offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and is positioned close to the Dora Baltea River, where the white water rafting takes place.

The reason why families love our camping activity holidays so much is because they have been carefully designed to encourage a community spirit, where families can make friends quickly and easily. Accommodation here is in our pre-erected, standing height traditional tents that have been designed to offer all the joys of camping with some additional comforts such as beds and hard flooring. Our tents are laid out in a horseshoe shape with a marquee for dining and socialising. Our aim is to offer you your own family space as well as an area where you can meet and spend time with other like-minded families meaning that quite often the adults can spend their evenings chatting and enjoying the Italian vino, whilst the children make friends and enjoy evening activities with our team.

We offer primary and standard tents. Primary tents typically include two raised beds with mattresses, hard flooring, fridge, electricity, lighting, wardrobe and an inner tent. Standard tents include up to four beds with mattresses, hard flooring and lanterns. Families of four or more are offered a primary and a standard tent. Families with less than four are offered a standard tent and can upgrade to a primary tent, or add an additional secondary tent for an extra charge, subject to availability. Please bring your own bedding and towels as these are not included.

Facilities

Facilities here include three toilet and shower blocks, including one that was recently built in 2014. There is also a small on-site shop and volleyball areas. We don't have a swimming pool on-site, but there is an outdoor pool in the local town that can be used for an additional charge, paid locally.

Meals

All meals are included and are prepared by our catering team who are very experienced in delivering menus for young people. Our food is nutritious and filling, just what you need for an action packed week and your meals are served in your marquee, along with complimentary wine in the evening for the adults, by our friendly team. When you are doing activities off-site, you will be provided with a packed lunch.

Self-Drive/fly-drive

We are offering self-drive holidays, allowing you to make your own way there and perhaps extend your holiday, should you wish. To get to our activity locations you will need a car. If you are flying to the Villeneuve Adventure Camp, we strongly recommend that you hire a car for the duration of your stay to ensure you are able to get to and from the camp and enjoy all of the activities as well explore the area on your free day.

Having a car gives you and your family a little extra freedom and allows you to extend your stay in Italy and fill the car up with Italian goodies on the way home if taking your own car.
